Come Sketch the MEM!
With Urban Sketchers Montréal

Want to sketch the museum and the city through our windows? Everyone is welcome, regardless of drawing level or experience!

Event description

Join us at the MEM at 11 a.m. Those who come with their own drawing materials will have free access to the entire museum and can set themselves up wherever they want to sketch the museum or the city as seen through our windows.

There will also be a special challenge: draw a postcard of the city and you could see your work displayed in our permanent exhibition!

Sketchers can leave the museum for lunch and return afterwards.

You’ll have a chance to show your work to the other participants during a show-and-tell session in the MEM Cabaret at 3 p.m.

About Urban Sketchers

Part of the international collective UrbanSketchers.org, whose motto is “See the World, One Drawing at a Time,” Urban Sketchers Montréal (USK Montréal) brings together sketchers, including beginners and the experienced, amateurs and professionals, and the occasional and the habitual, with very diverse styles, who draw and paint to record their daily life in the Greater Montréal area. Sketchers use different media such as pencil, ink, watercolour or a stylus on a tablet. The idea is to sketch on location, in the company of other sketchers, in a spirit of sharing and mutual encouragement.
