A lot of research goes into developing the content of our exhibitions. And in the course of that research…WOW! We come across never-before-seen archives, family photos, home movies, amazing objects, and people with moving stories to tell. Come and chat with Catherine Charlebois, our chief curator, and the various guests she will invite to present these treasures of Montréal history.

For the first WOW! event, presented as part of the Festival d'histoire de Montréal, Catherine will be joined by Matt Soar, co-founder of the Montréal Signs Project, and Marie-Anne Gagnon, curator at the MEM. Their discussion will focus on the signs installed in the museum entrance. Come hear the occasionally incredible stories behind the rescue of this overlooked heritage. Find out what it took to restore and install the dozen signs that colourfully welcome the MEM’s visitors.

Important: The talk will alternate between French and English.
