Montréal, in Short
In collaboration with the Courts d’un soir Festival
Enjoy a class in filmmaking and a screening of short films that are 100% Montréal.

The MEM is delighed to collaborate with the Courts d’un soir Festival for this screening of short films that are 100% Montréal.
Two activities on the program:
Filmmaking class – 4 to 6 p.m.
How can you use the city in your filmmaking project? How does a city like Montréal inspire filmmakers? How can you film the city in a way that captures all its vibes? What are the technical challenges of filming in Montréal? Does filming the city change the way you see it?
These are just some of the questions to be discussed by Yan Ethier, of the Montréal Film and Television Commission, and filmmaker Henri Bernadet, who directed Les rayons gamma (2023), a film about a group of teenagers in the Saint-Michel neighbourhood.
Montréal in 10 shorts – 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
The Courts d’un soir Festival is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year! To mark the occasion, we’re screening 10 short films about Montréal that have been part of the festival’s lineup over the years. Don’t miss this chance to watch 10 Montréal shorts and chat with some of the filmmakers.
General seating in the MEM Cabaret. First come, first seated.
Bar service all evening.
