Searching for the Real and Imagined City
A Literary Tour of Montréal
As part of Salon dans la Ville, embark on a journey of readings through Montréal’s real and imagined spaces.
Discover Montréal from fascinating perspectives: its nightlife through Yannick Marcoux’s novel Je travaille dans le bruit, its family neighbourhoods through Ruelles by Florence G. Ferraris and Ariel Tarr, and its Indigenous communities through Akuteu, a play by Soleil Launière that explores current social issues. This literary journey will be followed by a roundtable discussion on the different ways of writing about Montréal and its realities, led by host XX with the participation of the featured authors.
About Salon dans la Ville
With a lively program of panels, performances, discussions, signings, talks, workshops, and storytelling hours, Salon dans la Ville brings Montréal’s literature directly to Montrealers. Committed to enriching community life, it showcases writers and their work, celebrates the artisans and professionals of the book world, and promotes local bookstores, libraries, cultural spaces, and other venues that enhance the daily lives of Montrealers. As an extension of the Salon du livre, it also builds connections between the book fair and the city’s diverse communities.
