The MEM is delighted to welcome you to this first conference by the new research chair in contemporary Quebec history, titled Où en est le Québec d’hier? (How has Quebec evolved over the years?)
As part of this activity, several panelists will explore contemporary Quebec history from a variety of viewpoints and using different methods. They’ll talk about the definition of contemporary Quebec as an historical object, and will describe concepts and disciplines that help enhance our knowledge and understanding. Several topics will be covered during these two days of discussion and reflection.

About the Chaire de recherche en histoire contemporaine du Québec (CHCQ)
Co-directed by Harold Bérubé and Stéphane Savard, the CHCQ explores the specificities of contemporary Quebec history through strategic themes related to citizenship: the State, territory and identity.
