Event description
From September to April, the MEM and the Laboratoire d’histoire et de patrimoine de Montréal (LHPM) at UQAM will be holding a one-day gathering every month to explore citizens’ involvement in history and heritage. Historical societies and Montréal heritage organizations will be at the museum to talk about their missions, areas of expertise and initiatives: the production, presentation and sharing of historical knowledge; participation in cultural and community life; and actions to protect our heritage. Come and chat with their members . . . and perhaps get involved!
In March, we’ll be inviting the Quebec Anglophone Heritage Network to give a talk titled QAHN: 25 Years of Promoting and Preserving Heritage, the Montreal Story. Starting at 2 p.m. in the MEM Cabaret, historian Rod MacLeod will present the network’s 25 years of experience and expertise. Following his presentation, you can join in a discussion and chat with members of this group, which highlights the contribution of anglophone communities across Quebec and in Montréal.
The conference will be held in English.
Places limited. First come, first seated.
