Event description

Behind every migration is a story. Some can be told all at once; others reveal themselves piece by piece, through images, silences and detours. All carry precious experiences to discover.

Using these diverse journeys and stories as a starting point, the Université de Montréal’s Clinique Mauve, in collaboration with the MEM – Centre des mémoires montréalaises, invites you to a day of activities focused on exploring the ties between sexuality, migrations and acts of solidarity. Combining perspectives from research, artistic creation and lived experiences, the activities will highlight the multiple ways a person can tell their story, show up, and make their voice heard.

The programming fosters dialogue among various forms of expression — digital accounts, artistic creations, round table and panel discussions — to reveal stories that are often overlooked, and show how they are circulated, transformed and shared.

Bringing together researchers, artists and community members, this day is aimed at creating an open and accessible space geared towards listening, talking and sharing. Participants are invited to recognize a plurality of journeys and think about the types of solidarity that come out of them.
