On Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 7 to 10 p.m., as part of the Journées de la culture, enjoy a musical evening where three artists will take you on a journey through sound, language and story, to the beat of life in Montréal.
A musical showcase celebrating hybrid sounds
Presented by Vision Diversité, MUZ is a showcase for music from around the world. This year’s 16th edition of the festival will be held in October at Studio TD. Each year, MUZ selects a cohort of three groups of artists from participants in its festival. For an entire year, these artists receive coaching and assistance with shows and studio sessions to help them launch their career. The evening at the MEM concludes this journey, showcasing artists from the festival’s 2025 edition.
Lapelúda
Her debut album Caídas (2022) was nominated in the Album of the Year category at the Latin Awards Canada. Lapelúda then made her mark at the 2024 POP Montréal Festival. The rising Colombian-Québécoise artist creates indie folk songs that capture the soul of traditional Latin American music. With her powerful yet vulnerable voice, she transcends language barriers, singing emotionally rich lyrics set to Latin rhythms.
Nadine Altounji
Nadine Altounji invites us on an enchanting musical journey from Peru to Syria as she captures the essence of cultural fusion in Montréal.
The melodies of her oud and guitar are intertwined with sounds of the darbouka and cajón, overlaid with catchy folk and pop nuances. On two EPs, she merges Peruvian styles with African rhythms, at the same time exploring her Syrian heritage.
Nadine forms a deep connection with the audience, inviting them to immerse themselves in her unique musical world.
Hendry Massamba
Originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Henry Massamba is a musician and drummer on a quest to transmit and celebrate traditional African languages. Through his dynamic, festive and rhythmic music, he seeks to raise awareness and build bridges between African heritage and contemporary issues, blending traditional sounds with modern influences. In this way, he hopes to offer audiences an experience that is both upbeat and introspective, one in which music becomes a vector for change and a way to reconcile past and present.
