Event description
The MEM is a citizen museum featuring the first-hand accounts of many Montrealers. To celebrate Black History Month, we’re presenting Witnesses to History, a special guided tour of the museum that includes discussions with some of the people whose first-hand accounts are part of our exhibition. They’ll be on hand to share their stories and experiences with you.
This guided tour is a chance to discover the essential role of Black communities in the history and development of Montréal. Through the discussions, we invite you to reflect on the dynamic and human quality of collective memory. The tour will be led by historian and archivist Samia Dumais who holds a master’s degree in history from the Université du Québec à Montréal and is a PhD candidate at Concordia University.
Please note that exhibition participants will vary according to the tour schedule. Each tour is therefore a unique experience.
