Event description
Montréal is witness to many life journeys, some of them fragile and often invisible. This Kaleidoscope discussion will explore homelessness from a humane angle, considering how it occurs, how it is lived, and how it affects the mental health and daily life of those experiencing it.
In partnership with UQAM, the MEM invites you to this round table discussion led by Geneviève Courchesne-Paré, Assistant Director, Communications and Events, at the Fondation Maison du Père. Guests Annie Savage, Director of the Réseau d’aide aux personnes seules et itinérantes de Montréal; Mona Trudel, a visual arts and media professor whose research is focused on the transformative role of art in vulnerable populations; Nathalie Ross, Director of the Fondation Accueil Bonneau; and XXX, from the organization CACTUS Montréal, who works on harm reduction and the prevention of STBBIs, will offer their perspectives on lived realities, possible paths and needs, as well as choices and responsibilities when it comes to mental health and homelessness.
Kaleidoscope round table discussions at the MEM bring together people with specific viewpoints on a current issue. Like a kaleidoscope, they invite us to look at the issue from different angles and to shift perspectives so we can see new patterns and nuances.
This round table discussion will be offered in French.
