Event description

From September to April, the MEM and the Laboratoire d’histoire et de patrimoine de Montréal at UQAM will be holding a one-day event each month to explore citizens’ involvement in history and heritage. Historical societies and Montréal heritage organizations will be at the museum to talk about their missions, areas of expertise and activities: the production, presentation and sharing of historical knowledge; participation in cultural and community life; and actions to protect our heritage. Come and chat with their members... and perhaps get involved!

In February, come and learn about the activities of the Société d’histoire et de généalogie de Montréal-Nord and the Société d’histoire et de généalogie de Verdun. Both historical societies are focused on genealogy and have a variety of kid-friendly educational activities lined up.

Between 11 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., come and chat with their members at the booths in our public spaces, and take part in the family genealogy workshop at 2 p.m.
