Event description

The MEM and FICAM invite you to the Montreal premiere of Annie Leclair's film Les eaux calmes, co-screened with the Festival du nouveau cinéma and in collaboration with Moelle épinière et motricité Québec. The director and lead actress, Soleine Démétré, will be present.

The film will be shown in French with French subtitles.

The screening will be held in the MEM’s Cabaret. Adapted transport vehicles can park in the drop-off area in front of the museum and there is elevator access to the Cabaret.

The activity is accessible to wheelchair users and to non-disabled members of the public.

L’Astralopithèque, a work by the art collective Cummings&Pifko, will be shown in the Cabaret from October 21 to 25. It is presented by the digital creation centre TOPO, which will also be setting up a demo area in Workshop 1 at the MEM under the theme, “Art, digital creation and well-being.” The area will include interactive installations, games, a virtual reality experience and websites.

About FICAM

The Festival international de cinéma adapté de Montréal aims to bring film to people with a mental, motor, hearing or visual disability, as well as those who are neurodivergent. The festival program includes documentaries, fiction films, animations, video clips, and short- and medium-length films (60 minutes and less) that speak to these individuals’ experiences.
