Zero-Waste Crafts for the Holidays

Get creative with everyday items to make zero-waste gift wrapping.

Gift wrapping made with recycled material with a red ribbon.

Free and open to all ages, our Zero-Waste craft workshops invite you to explore creative upcycling ideas. Bring materials from home, learn how to repurpose them with the MEM team, and develop new zero-waste reflexes.

The holidays are often a time of overconsumption—and wrapping paper alone is a significant source of the season’s waste. Why not reuse or recycle materials to create original wrapping solutions? Bring any gifts you want to wrap and our team will share their zero-waste ideas with you.

Some ideas for materials to bring from home:

  • Recycled paper
  • Thin, rigid cardboard
  • Magazines
  • Fabric
  • Ribbons
  • String
