Taxi!

Our Taxi! project was inspired by the acquisition of the Bureau du Taxi de Montréal (BTM) collection. The taxi bureau shuttered in December 2022. The exhibit presents highlights from the BTM’s collection of over 300 objects and 200 photos, showcasing Montréal’s taxi industry and some of the cab drivers who have navigated the city streets.

The objects on display from this collection include 85 rooflights, 21 taximeters, and a dispatch radio. The archive also includes licences, certificates, badges, and newspaper and administrative records.
