Produced by the MEM - Centre des mémoires montréalaises. The exhibition is part of the Dialogue project with Chinatown deployed by the City of Montreal.

Montréal’s Chinatown reveals itself through six landmarks that shed light on the history and culture of this dynamic community. Immerse yourself in the world of each of these sites through the stories of the people who frequented them. Discover little-known aspects of the history of this endangered neighbourhood and the essential role it played in the immigration trajectory of the Montréal’s Asian diasporas.

Having overcome many challenges over the years, the community has, through its continued resilience and vibrancy, helped to keep Chinatown alive. This exhibition reflects the neighbourhood’s importance to the life of the community. It also highlights Chinatown’s rich culture and history, testaments to the community’s unwavering commitment to preserving and enhancing the area.
