Event description

The MEM takes you back 50 years, inviting you to discover or revisit the Olympic Games that marked the summer of 1976 in Montréal. Imagine you’re a staff member putting on their uniform, an athlete proudly showing their accreditation card, or a visitor buying their Amik badge in a souvenir shop. Experience the Olympic adventure!

In this small exhibition, featuring a selection of archival material, personal testimonies and objects from the MEM collection, visitors are invited to relive this grand sporting event. The Montréal Olympic Games have been recognized for their exemplary organization, for their technical and architectural innovations, and for introducing Montrealers to elite sports. The impact of this major event on the history of Montréal largely surpasses the financial scandal behind the construction of the stadium! Join us in revisiting some of these memories to mark the 50th anniversary of the Montréal Games.
